Paul Jefferson Black, age 64, passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona on August 18, 2022. He was born in Kentucky on December 15, 1957 to Betty (Vanover) and Ira Black.
Paul was an artist at heart who was happiest making art with the children in his life. He was a mentor and father figure to a lot of people throughout his life. He went back to school in his 50's to achieve his LPN degree and worked as a nurse in memory care until his retirement. In his retirement he loved spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle Black Betty through the desert and hiking. He preferred a free and elevated lifestyle, and enjoyed spending the last year of his life in the friendly state of Arizona.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Betty (Vanover) and Ira Black; his son Parker Jefferson Black; his brother, Bob Black; and his niece, Amanda Dozier.
Paul will be remembered by his daughters Arminta (Michael Ray) Ward and Holly Black and their mother Cathy Black; grandchildren: James Mobley, Colin Black, Connor Black, Graham Ward, Cassidy Black and Mikayla Ray; siblings Jim (Diane) Black, Henry (Donna) Black, Mary (Randy) Dozier and Ira Black Jr.; his partner April Paul and her daughter Gabbi; especially close family and friends Faye and Vonnie, Connie (Roger) Godsey-Bell, Garth Ward and so many more.
A Celebration of Life for Paul will begin at 2:30pm on Sunday September 25th 2022 at the NALC Branch 182 Union Hall located at 1860 Radio Rd, Dayton, OH 45431.
