In loving memory of Paul Baker III, whose vibrant spirit and infectious joy brightened the lives of all who knew him. Born February 18, 1979, in Huber Heights, Paul was a true embodiment of laughter and love, which radiated through his affectionate nature and genuine warmth.
Paul’s life journey, tragically cut short on December 14, 2024, in Dayton, is etched with countless cherished memories, particularly those moments when he welcomed his children into this world. As a devoted father, he found immeasurable joy in the birth of each child, an experience that marked his heart indelibly. He never missed an opportunity to be there for them, the late hours never mattered, as he always prioritized his family above all.
An industrious man, Paul thrived on the satisfaction of working with hands, whether it was tackling household repairs or restoring cars. His practical skills complemented his vibrant personality, with every project reflecting the spirited enthusiasm he brought to life. Paul also had a deep passion for sports, passionately rooting for his favorite teams— the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, and, of course, the Ohio State Buckeyes. His cheers resonated not just in stadiums but also in local fields, where he proudly supported his children and nephew in their sporting endeavors, becoming their loudest advocate.
Paul showed a lot of love through his artistic ability by sending hand made letters, making homemade gifts and hand drawn cards for different occasions.
Paul’s laugh was nothing short of iconic; his humor was a delightful melody weaving through conversations. He possessed an uncanny ability to elevate any gathering, wrapping everyone in a cocoon of laughter and love. To be in his presence was to feel loved and cherished.
He leaves behind his beloved children, McKenzie Baker, Sam (Hannah) Baker, Laycie Baker, Emma Richey (Dylan), and Austin Greene (Caiti), who will carry on his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support. His adoring mother, Marilyn Smith, and father, Paul Baker Jr., alongside his sisters, Shannon Minge and Danielle Baker, will forever hold dear their memories of him. The light of his life will also continue to shine through his cherished grandson, Kamden Smith, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who were fortunate enough to bask in the warmth of his affection.
Paul's absence will be deeply felt, not just by his surviving family but by all whose lives he touched. The laughter and love may have faded from this earthly realm, but his spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those he loved. His paternal grandparents, Paul Sr. and Elsie Baker, his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Rose Gent, and his step-father, David Smith, along with his girlfriend, Candace Lay, welcome him into eternal peace, where together they will find rest and joy.
As we celebrate Paul's remarkable life, let us remember the laughter, the stories, and the love he shared—forever echoing in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
