Paul W. Baker, age 87, of Dayton, passed away January 6, 2022. He was born November 29, 1934 in Orlando, KY to the late Leonard Baker and Lucille Stewart.

Paul was joined in Heaven by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Baker on January 13, 2022.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his daughters and sons-in-law: Paula and Robert Swayne, Debbie Ditmer and Darryll Bond; brother and sister-in-law: Jimmie and Mae Baker; sister, Beatrice Baker; brothers-in-law: Dick Nihizer and John Nihizer; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lowell and Edna Nihizer.

Paul is survived by his children: Theresia Edwards (Dennis), Patricia Garcia, Mary Anna Bond, Larry Haney (Mary Emison), David R. Haney (Luanne Peterson), Steve Haney (Tracy Longano) and Eric Haney (Deborah); son-in-law, Stephen Ramos; grandchildren: Christopher Bond, Joseph Bond, Sarah Veselka (Walter), Mark McClurg (Susan), Jeremy Edgar (Lauren), Nathan McCarty (Stacy), Ben McCarty (Jenni), Allison Garcia, Daniel Swayne, Brandy Vandegrift, Candy Vandegrift, David D. Haney (Holly), Stephen Haney (Faith), Susannah Keathley, Sarah Shepherd (Denny), Daniel Haney (Kara), Megan Rhodes (Steve), Allyson Haney, Kai Haney, Joshua Haney, Chelsea Garcia (Gabe), and Bethany Smith (J-Bird); great-grandchildren: Flynt, Heath, Finley, Henry, Jackson, Hudson, Jovi, Indie, Declan, Amber, Kyrstin, Camryn, Jakovi, Kaili, Conner, Zackary, Rylan, Lillian, Drystan, Lucas, Logan, Beau, Lily, Carson, Duke, Finnegan, Sorin, Abbott, Mercedes, Abigail, Ayden, Chloe, Landon, Brooklynn, Evelyn, Patrick, Jullian and Jonah; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Lowell (Carlene) Nihizer, Ruth (Lee) Sowers and Peggy Nihizer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul was an ironworker for many years and was a member of the Local Union 290. He coached girls softball, was a girl scout leader, and enjoyed camping. He loved fishing and fixing, building and inventing things. Paul was a very giving man who would help anyone in need. He especially liked helping with auto repairs. Paul deeply loved all of his children and grandchildren and was a devoted and loving husband.

Visitation will be held for Paul and his wife, Beverly from 10-11 am on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where their funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.
