POLAND, Patty R. 71 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce and her father Wilbert Rarick. She is survived by her three children, daughter Joyce Condy and husband Sam, son Charles Poland and wife Michelle, daughter Penny Smith and husband Tom; four grandchildren, Debbie, Angie, Ashley and Nathan; three great grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, and Samuel; her mother Josephine Rarick; two brothers Gene and wife Beulah Rarick, Glen and wife Jeanie Rarick; brother-in-law Doug Poland; sister-in-law Maggie Poland; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Patty was a 1951 graduate of Lewisburg High School, a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of Mary Martha's Circle, member of Mission Group, Past President and life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 675. She twirled professionally with Hoarce Heidt. She taught twirling, judged twirling and drum corps competitions for 20 years. She taught sewing for Singers and retired from Capital Cleaners after 15 years as sewing supervisor. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church 5464 Old Troy Pike in Huber Heights, with Pastor John Wagner officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Road. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Patty's memory.
