Patrick J. O'Neill, age 89, of West Carrollton passed away with his son by his side on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Kettering Medical Hospital after a long struggle with cancer and other health issues.
Patrick was born on August 30, 1932 in Princeton, Indiana to the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O'Neill. Both of his parents were dancers in VanDeville and taught dance to many celebrities. Patrick loved dancing and toured with his parents and dance troop. Patrick was a Korean War Veteran who served on the USS Los Angeles "G" Co. 3rd Battalion 9th Marines 3rd Division. While in the military he also boxed in the golden gloves.
He graduated Princeton High School before attending Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery in 1964. Patrick worked as a chemist for several big companies such as: Red Spot, Windsor and Mortin Thiokol. Patrick also had several patens for his discoveries. His passions were chemistry and golf. He was also a pilot and enjoyed flying.
Patrick was married to Lois E. ONeill and had two boys, Derrick L. O'Neill and Terance D. O'Neill. He remarried to Joyce T. York and they resided together in Dayton, Ohio until her passing. Patrick was a good hearted man and a great father. His son, Terance, will always hold these great memories close to his heart.
