LITTLE, Patricia Ann (Zennie), age 80, of Dayton, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 13, 2022. Patti was born on December 9, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Albert J. and Lila Cecelia (Attalla) Zennie. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William Donald Little; 5 children, Jim (Carol) Carleton, Cindy (Doug) Simon, Tammy (David) McGeary, Greg (Shari) Little, and Alicia (John) Brown; 12 grandchildren, Josh Carleton, Olivia (Colin) Morris, Douglas (Jenny) Simon, Derek (Amanda) Simon, Ryan McGeary, Tyler (Abby) McGeary, Kyle (Nicole) McGeary, Julia McGeary, Bryce (Sam) Little, Robert (Sarah) Little, Kelli (Michael) Alderton, and Matthew (Courtney) Smith; 13 great grandchildren; brothers/sisters, Jerry (Trish) Zennie, Joanne Szczepura, Joe (Carol/Deceased) Zennie, Albert (Sonia) Zennie, Cheryl (Tom/Deceased) Kingsley; in-laws David (Lola) Little, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia A. Carleton, parents-in-law, Virgil & Mildred Little, and son-in-law, Matthew Smith.
Patti was a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Commercial High School. Her first job was as a candy striper at Miami Valley Hospital, followed by a secretarial career with Prosecuting Attorney Mathias H. Heck Sr., Hallmark Pool Supplies, Mack Trucking Company, Ira E. Berry Inc., Sunshine Biscuit Company, DP&L, NFPA in Massachusetts, and the Carmel (Indiana) Police Department.
Patti was an active member for many years of the American-Lebanese Club, where she served on the Board and was involved with A World A'Fair. Her heritage was very important to her, and she played an integral part in facilitating the start of St. Ignatius of Antioch Maronite Catholic Church. She served on Parish Council and several committees, opened her home for meetings and Bible study, worked weekly Bingo, and volunteered her time with cooking for fundraisers, as well as working at the Lebanese Festival.
Family to receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Ignatius of Antioch Maronite Catholic Church, 50 Nutt Road, Dayton, OH 45458, with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Private burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, OH.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice of Dayton, Kettering Health Network, Miami Valley Hospital, and the Laurels of Kettering. Also, a special thank you for all the texts, phone calls, cards, prayers and prayer chains from people Patti didn't even know throughout the last several months of her life journey.
