Patricia A. Guthrie

Patricia A. Guthrie, age 89 of Dayton, passed away on August 24, 2021. Patricia was born in Raleigh, NC on November 17, 1931 to the late William F. Sr. and Alcora Allen.

In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Otis Guthrie Jr.; siblings: Bernice H. McCullom, William F. Allen Jr., Lawrence E. Allen, Marjorie D. Allen, and Harold J. Allen.

Patricia loved gardening, cooking, visiting with her church family, and taking care of her beloved dog, Chico, and she was inseparable from her TV remote. She loved to watch Family Feud and Jeopardy, and she always worked the word search in the newspaper. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren (her precious babies). She loved to go out shopping, her favorite spots being Dollar General and Family Dollar. Every Thanksgiving, should would create a delicious meal for her family that included a wonderful prime rib.

Patricia will be remembered by her loving children: Caron K. Guthrie; Michael A. (Stephanie) Guthrie; grandchildren: Tiffanie L. Guthrie, Brittanie M. Guthrie, and Wesley A.G. Pope; godson: Reginald B. Fears; siblings: Gloria S. Shepard and Rufus J. (Peggy) Allen; close family friend: Donzell Pope; and many other loving family and friends.

Family and friends will be received for a walk-through viewing from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. A private service will be held for family only due to COVID-19 concerns. Patricia will be interred with her husband at Dayton National Cemetery.
