Patricia Ann Florkey

Patricia Ann Florkey, also lovingly known as Patty Ann, Mom, Gigi, and Grandma, age 91 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025. She was born August 8, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul and Eleanor Schommer.

Patricia graduated from Julienne High School, and then pursued a career as an X-ray technician. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, using her Golden Buckeye card at various establishments, watching the Hallmark channel, warm chocolate milk, and Frisch's vegetable soup and cherry pie. She was also a longtime fan of Elvis and enjoyed his music her entire life. Patricia was a devout Catholic and strong in her faith. Despite experiencing great loss in her life, she continued on with a positive outlook on life. She never knew a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who will be deeply missed.

Patricia is survived by her brother, Gene (Mickey) Schommer; sister, Paulette Jeckering; daughters-in-law, Marilyn Florkey and Paula Florkey; grandchildren, Shannon Prince, Paula Dixon, Brian Florkey, Ashley Florkey, Scott Florkey, Laura Guffey, Lindsey Loesch, Kenneth Florkey; great grandchildren, Grace Prince, Andrew Prince, Ava Prince, Brayden Dixon, Lincoln Haney, Eve Guffey, Mark Florkey, Conor Florkey, Lily Haney, Olivia Guffey, Lyla Loesch, McKenna Florkey, and Mila Florkey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Howard "Bob" Florkey; sons, Mark Florkey and Kenny Florkey; great grandson, Liam Haney; brother, Thomas "Tommy" Schommer; and brother-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Jeckering.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH 45459). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
