Patricia Ann Mcdevitt

February 9, 1936 — March 16, 2022

Patricia Ann Dragotto McDevitt of Beavercreek died on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey February 9th, 1936 to the late Antonio and Theresa (Merlo) Dragotto, both first generation Sicilian immigrants, and butchers by trade.

Patricia graduated from St. Philip and St. James High School June 1955, and received her RN degree from Easton Hospital School of Nursing 1958. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Neil T. McDevitt Sr. and her five children, Neil (Gerard Walsh) McDevitt Jr., Rosemarie (Steve) Backhaus, Patrick (Anne) McDevitt, Michael (Kimberly) McDevitt, Marianne (Tom) Pohlmann and eight grandchildren, Anne Backhaus, John Pohlmann, Matthew McDevitt, Matthew Backhaus, Henrik Pohlmann, Meghan (Adam) Gill, Josef Pohlmann, Anamarie Pohlmann and step-grand daughter, Jen (Nathanael) Grant.

Known as Nana, her greatest pride were her children and grandchildren. Our large family gatherings were always filled with laughter, curse words, and wine. Patricia was a "foodie" before there was such a thing. She is remembered for visiting the library every week to peruse cook books for new ideas. Food was her love language and each child/grandchild had their favorite meal from mostaccioli to oatmeal pancakes.
She was always ready for a "discussion" and usually not very agreeable. Her husband referred to her as his "little electron" - always negative but without her nothing gets done.

She was a fighter in the truest sense of the word and she loved fiercely. If you were fortunate enough to be part of her inner circle you knew it, and if you weren't, you also knew it.

Patricia was knowledgeable on many topics. The phrase "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one" suited her perfectly. She was always prepared to offer her opinion and give a life lesson. Her strength, knowledge and love will always be remembered … but above all, that B*tch could cook!

In place of Services there will be Life Celebration with a large family gathering and everyone's favorite meal.
