Pastor Marvin S. Arnold Sr., age 77 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 30, 1943 in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Herman and Mamie Arnold. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Marvin S. Arnold Jr.; grandson, Obie McGhee III; and son-in-law, Claude M. Cook.
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Vivian Arnold; six children, Velecia Arnold, Sonja (Pearl) Lewis, Shelia (Randy) Lawrence, Herman (LaTonya) Arnold, and
Morley (Darnae`) Arnold; sister, Mary Mines; his Bible Class Missionary Baptist Church family. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pastor Marvin Arnold was a devoted family man, a great mentor, and a servant of the Lord. He was the founder of Bible Class Missionary Baptist Church. Marvin was known for his generosity and compassion for others. He enjoyed singing, fishing, cooking, gardening, caring for his flower beds, fixing things with Duct Tape or Liquid Nails, and telling his family funny stories. Marvin is well loved and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Memorial Service to be held at Bible Class Missionary Baptist Church 3032 Hoover Ave Dayton OH 45402 on Saturday May 15th at 12 PM. Due to COVID-19 pandemic mandatory mask order in effect and social distancing will be implemented.
