Pastor Ammon R. "Hatchet" Williams, Sr., age 65, of New Carlisle, went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2020. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on October 1, 1955, the son of the late Arlie Williams, Sr. and Mamie Brooks Burton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Arlie, Jr., Richard, Bradford and Randy; and sister, Charlotte.
Hatchet is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Vickie Williams; children, Paul (Angie), Amon (Carriann) and Amy; grandchildren, Megan, Andrew, Avery, Aubrey, Addison and Amon III; siblings, Jamie (Jearls) Williams, Patricia (Darryl) Davis, Cecil Williams, Billy Williams, Brenda Williams and Oliver Williams; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He retired from the University of Dayton Research Institute, where he worked for over 20 years as a Technician. He was the Pastor for 20 years of Living by Faith Ministries in Riverside. In his free time, he enjoyed going to church, where his most important life's work was completed. Leading others to Christ gave him purpose. Hatchet adored his family, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm, on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Funeral Services will begin at 1:30 pm with Pastor Walter Burger officiating. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.
