Pamela Sue Highley, age 72 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. She was born April 1, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Arthur and Treva Howard. She attended Stivers High School and was a member of the Stivers Alumni Association for many years. Pamela had a long career as an optometrist. She used to be an avid Bowler with her husband and was a member of a bowling team. Pamela enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas where she liked spending time at the Casinos. She owned and operated a bingo hall for a number of years. Pamela was a Notary Public for the state of Ohio. She was a generous person who spent a lot of her time working for different charities. What made Pamela Happiest was spending time with her Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She was a tough person who remained very active until the very end. She fought hard against her condition and went to Davita Dialysis in Kettering 3 days a week for 6 years. Pamela will be missed by all who knew her.
Pamela is survived by her Daughters, Cynthia M. (Denzil) McCreary, and Christina M. (Will) Castro; Grandchildren, Brittany L. McCreary, Danielle R. McCreary, and Samson M. Castro; Great-grandchildren, Angelo R. Soriano, and Alani R. Soriano; Sister, Barbara (William) Bradley; Aunt, Reva LaFountain; Cousins, Cheryl Davidson, Kay Davidson, Joan Sturgill, Joanna Davidson, and Jeanie Napier; Maria Beisel, Ron Caisson, Frank Brown; Close Friends, Vickie Walsh, Sandy Lieurance, Marsha Ryles, Darlene Lehmkuhle, and Chris Couch; Nephews, David Howard, Mike Highley, Marvin Highley, Jacoby Highley; and Nieces, Amber Howard, and Crystal Highley; and by numerous other friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Michael A. Highley, her Parents, and her Brothers, Edward Wilson, and David W. Howard.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 3, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). A service will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 12:00PM at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel (118 Woodland Ave, Dayton, OH 45409).
