Oval D. Stanaford, 90, of Dayton, passed away peacefully, on January 18, 2014 in his home.
He was born on January 13, 1924 in Paintsville, KY to the late, Enoch and Caroline (Mollett) Stanaford.
Oval D. worked in the Frigidaire division of General Motors for over 24 years.
He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during WWII in the China Offensive in Central Burma.
He loved to salvage scrap metal in the area. Oval D. enjoyed playing Bingo with his wife, Beatrice and they were big fans of World Wide Wrestling Federation.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; 5 brothers, Virgil, Eddie, Russell, Enoch Jr. and Carl; sister, Opal Music.
Oval D. is survived by his sister, Mabel (Andy) Povlis; special nephew, Richard Stanaford Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many good friends.
Visitation will be held from Noon – 1:30 PM, Friday, January 24, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio where funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM on Friday, with, Pastor Donald Godbey officiating.
Burial will take place in Willow View Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Dayton Chapter or Hospice of Dayton in memory of his wife, Beatrice.
