Garrett, Otis H., Age 80 of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Otis was born November 26, 1932 in Middletown, OH the son of Rev. Clarence and Flora Garrett. He served in the Korean War from 1953-55. He moved to Dayton where he met the love of his life Marlene Wolf, whom he has lovingly referred to as "Honeybun" for the past 55 years.
Otis was a member of the Fairborn American Legion Post 0526 for 42 years and was a member of the Mary Help of Christians Church. He retired from the Defense Electronic Supply Center in 1993, after 39 years of government service. Being the hard worker that he was Otis maintained a second job for 20 years as "Fairborn's friendly Fuller Brush salesman" under sales manager Ken Fourman. In 1994, Otis began his second career as a Realtor for LeValley Realty. He retired in 2012 and was grateful for his wonderful friendship with Bill LeValley.
Otis was a devout Pittsburg Steeler fan, a LA Dodger fan, was an avid reader, and a die-hard Republican.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Christine Collins, Lorena Brinkman, Wanda Hockstok, and Barbara Combs, and his brothers: William J Donald Garrett, and Clarence Ed Garrett Jr
. Otis has many loved ones to cherish his memory: his wife of 54 years Marlene, his son Gregg (Carolyn) of Fairfax, VA, and their children Christopher, Scott and Jennifer; his daughter Sandy (Billy) Hayes of Fairborn, and their sons Dillon and Dusty Boy; his daughter Ginger( Eric) Keeton of Bellbrook, and their daughters Kori and Brandi; his sisters Kathy (Don) Hofele, Irene (Bob) Justice, and brother Robert Lee Garrett, and his sister-in-laws Ann and Barbara Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
