Crusoe, Otis D.
Age 70, native of Dayton and resident of Springfield, OH, departed this life on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Otis, son of Callie Sanders and David D. Crusoe, was born on October 30, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio. Otis received his high school diploma from Dunbar High School of Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Otis was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. Otis had a varied career, most recently, serving as a Program Coordinator with the Dayton Urban League. Otis attended New Life Christian Center and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Johnson Crusoe; daughter, Toni Johnson; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory, special friend, Patricia Blair; daughter, Cheryl (Scott) Ringer; son, Mark S. Linquist; dear friends, Clarence Ray and Roosevelt Anderson; granddaughters Shannetta Johnson, Kennedy Ringer and Madison Ringer; grandson, Ryan Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday May 31, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
