Oscar Wilder, age 85, of Huber Heights passed away on October 12, 2023. He was born in Seco, Kentucky on October 6, 1938 to the late Roy and Lucy Belle Wilder. In addition to his parents, Oscar is preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Neal, Della Chestnut, Alice Combs, Lula Sandlin, Joyce Haney, Robert Wilder, Huey Wilder, Irvin Wilder, Nathan Wilder and Carl "Junior" Wilder.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn; children, Deborah (Joe) Freels, Lester (Patty) Wilder, Mark (Tammy) Wilder; grandchildren, Michael Adorno, Lester (Miranda) Wilder Jr., William "Billy" (Siera) Wilder, Trisha Wilder, Jessica (Mike) Young, Heather (Matthew) Howell; great-grandchildren, Gracie Wilder, Caleb Wilder, Gabe Burke, Julieana Biggs and brother, Bill (Janice) Wilder; along with many other family and friends.
Oscar served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a welder for over 60 years and was employed at Lau Incorporated and Wren LLC. His favorite moments were spent with his wife, Carolyn, whom he shared life with for 63 years. Oscar was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was considered a "jack of all trades" and often enjoyed helping his family. He was known for teaching everyone in the family how to fish, work on cars and completing home projects. Oscar will be forever loved and always missed by his loved ones.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
