Oscar Slaven

Slaven, Oscar, age 80, of Dayton passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2008. He was born August 5, 1928 in Kentucky. He was a US Army Veteran and he served in the Korean Conflict. Oscar attended the New Home Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Ellen Slaven; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers. He is survived by his brother, Grover Slaven; 6 children, Donna Lynn, William, Paula, Robert, Stanley, & Emery; 5 grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Evelyn Slaven; special friends, Louise Morris & Donald Deem; and a host of nieces and nephew; and his special nephew, Charles Seader, IV. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Dax Taulbee officiating. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 1 hour prior to services.
