Oscar Jefferson Myers, age 101, of Dayton, passed away on June 19, 2018. Oscar was born in Mason County, KY to the late Frank and Jessie Myers. Oscar came to Dayton in the early 1940s to begin working at Frigidaire. He later began work as a construction contractor and worked for many years until his retirement. Even though he retired, Oscar never stopped working. He was a longtime member of Spaulding Road Church of God. He was a passionate hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time outdoors in his free time. Oscar was a kind, generous, and caring man. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his strength, kindness, and humor.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara "Mary" Myers; and 11 siblings.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memory, Joe (Sylvia Esther) Myers; sister, Agnes Christine Ensminger; 14 grandchildren, many loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; loving friend and caregiver, Lana Hoskins, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 6pm - 9pm at Newcomer - North Chapel. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
