Oscar Crider

Oscar J. Crider, age 93 of Tipp City / Bethel Twp, passed away September 6, 2014. He was born February 12, 1921 in Harlan, KY to the late Roosevelt and Louise Crider. In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mildred "Mitzi" Crider; son-in-law, Gary W. Muncie; brothers: Dallas and Jack; sisters: Leona, Vivian and Patricia.

Oscar is survived by his children: Oscar Michael (Terri) Crider, Jack Ronald (Judy) Crider and Vicki Lynn Muncie; grandchildren: Amy, Matthew, Emilly, Sarah Elizabeth, Robert, Michael and Jennifer; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Delt; brothers: Harold, Larry and Gary; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his beloved cats.

Oscar was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation after more than 30 years of service and was a member of the Huber Heights VFW Post 3283.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice of the Miami Valley for their loving in home care.
