Orville Lee Bodmer, age 80, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
He was born October 29, 1932 in Wilgus, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Orville is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha J. Bodmer; son, Jack L. Bodmer; daughter-in-law, Tammie J. Bodmer; grandsons, Rory Bodmer and Brett Bodmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Orville served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Orville retired from General Motors. He was a member of Shriners of Dayton as well as the Masons. In retirement, Orville loved to garden and was very proud of his flowers. He was always looking for something to tinker with and could fix anything. He loved to talk to people, and never knew a stranger.
A special thanks to family and friends: niece, Brenda and husband Jerry Lee; brother-in-law, Jerry Wannemacher; friends, John Lovecchio, Louise and Mike Burke, Christine Rogers, Mike Hackman, Duane Harrison and their neighbors for their help and support for dad and mom.
He will be remembered and missed. We love you dad.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 4, 2013 from 1-2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 2pm. Burial will be held at Woodland Cemetery.
