BAILEY, Orbie Ray
was born to William and Nona Bailey on March 6, 1924, in Adair County, Kentucky, and passed away on July 29, 2005 in Kettering, Ohio, at the age of 81 years. Orbie was a truck driver, and often spoke of having driven over a million miles. He could recall vividly the big cities he serviced, and the driving experiences over the many years he drove. In his later years he settled in North Dayton, and attended the Dayton Brethren in Christ Mission. During these years he rejoiced in having come back to the Lord, reading his Bible for hours in the evenings, and praying even in the night when he could not sleep. He was an inspiration to those who knew him. Orbie was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, five brothers, and one sister. He is survived by five children, Donsetta (Mrs. Everett) Barrett, Barbara (Mrs. Dudley) Combs, both of Kentucky; also Patricia, Joanie, and Roger. Also remaining are three sisters, Ocilla (Mrs. Isham) Hensley, his loving twin Audrey (Mrs. Charles) Jones, and Jewell (Mrs. Ed) Stults, all of Kentucky; as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a number of neighbors and friends who greatly appreciated him. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Newcomer Funeral Home at 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, Ohio. Viewing will be on Monday, August 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and funeral services, officiated by Rev. John Pawelski, will be on Tuesday, August 9 at 10:30 a.m., with viewing an hour before.
