Opal Owens, age 87, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Dayton, passed away May 3, 2019.
She was born October 11, 1931 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Joe and Elizabeth (Hinkle) Patterson.
Opal was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and cooking for her family.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Owens, and by her siblings Herbert Patterson, Arnold Patterson, Clifford Patterson, and Jim Tom Patterson.
She is survived by her children, Justin (Donna) Owens, Trent (Lily) Owens, Katrina (John) Thacker; grandchildren, Lisa Boninsegna, Gena (Adam) Thomas, Trace Owens, Justin Owens, Drake Owens; great-granddaughter, Kallen Thomas, and sister, Maudie Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Newcomer, South Chapel 3940 Kettering Blvd., from 5:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm.
Opal will be laid to rest at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45414.
