Opal Betty Day, age 88 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020. She was born on November 27, 1932 in Irvine, Kentucky to Frank and Betty (Campbell) Neal.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Day; her parents; a brother, Lloyd Neal; sisters, Irene Noland and Hazel Berger; and a son in law, Gene Cocanougher. She is survived by a daughter, Susie Cocanougher; a son, Billy (Michelle) Puckett Jr.; four grandchildren, Christen (Kacy) Bruce, Haley, Nick and Blake Puckett; three great grandchildren, Jace,Claire and Hayes Bruce; a brother, Roy Neal; sisters, Eunice, Zoe, Dora, Lucille and Faye; and other numerous family and friends.
Opal's greatest earthly love was her grandchildren and the children under her care. She started off as an entrepreneur opening her own hair salon as a young lady, and was a real estate investor, including building homes alongside her husband. Opal was a resident of Elmcroft of Xenia for the last 5 years and made many friends along the way.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Opal will be laid to rest following the services at Valley View Cemetery, Xenia, OH.
