Opal C. Hunter
Opal C. Hunter, age 98, of Kettering, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 16, 2011, at The Sanctuary at Wilmington Place.
Opal was born March 25, 1912 in Shipley, KY, the daughter of the late James & Margaret Cowan.
She was a member of Greenmont Oak Park Community Church. Opal is survived by her children; James "Rex" Hunter, Carolyn (Don) Parrish and Louise (Harry) Fecher; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hunter; grandchildren, Stella Ann (Brian) Cosler, Greg Hunter, Barry Hunter, Brad Hunter, Cheri (Steve) Stewart, Steve Parrish and Josh Fecher; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Schweiterman and Dorothy Miller; and many other relatives and friends that loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Larry Hunter; son, Robert "Gene" Hunter; daughter-in-law, Stella Hunter; and grandchildren, Jim and Mark Hunter.
Graveside services will be held 11:30am, Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Greg King officiating. Family will receive friends from 10-11am Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439).
