Omer Ray

Omer "Buck" Ray, age 93 of West Carrollton, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021. He was born on May 18, 1928 in Poplar Springs, Tennessee to the late Andrew and Mattie Ray.

In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ray; two brothers, Claude and Fred Ray; three sisters, Nadine Bowers, Mable Allen, and Delphie Jones; brother-in-law, John Pressel; sister-in-law, Helen Pressel; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Ray.

Omer is survived by his two children, Gwen (Tom) Scarborough and Michael Ray; three grandchildren, Michael Ray, Matthew (Elizabeth) Scarborough, and James (Laura) Ray; three great-grandchildren, Lilly Scarborough, Maci Ray, and Ellie Ray. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.


He dedicated more than 30 years to Delco Products. Omer volunteered at Dayton Metro Parks. He enjoyed, fishing, working in the garden, playing cards, camping or just being outdoors. The children were the light of his life and he always loved to spend time with them. Omer is well loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3940 Kettering Boulevard Kettering, Ohio 45439. Funeral service will be officiated by Raul Concha at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
