Olympia "Bobbie" (Stefanidis) Hakemoller of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born on October 6th, 1922 (100 years) to Steve and Stella Stefanidis (Tapoff) of Dayton and she attended Roosevelt Highschool. After graduating, she worked at Wright Patterson Airforce Base for 13 years.
Bobbie met the love of her life, John Elmer Hakemoller, in Dayton, Ohio. They were married several years later and were together for 72 years. John and Bobbie enjoyed their life together, raising three wonderful children: James Steven Hakemoller, Janice Susan (Hakemoller) Marsh, and John Mark Hakemoller. John, her husband passed away 5 days after Bobbie. She was preceded in death by her parents Steven & Stella Stefanidis of Dayton, sisters: Mary (Sam) Morris, Angeline Barker (Lyle Eugene Barker), Christine (Joe Bellone), and her brother Nickolas Stefanidis.
Bobbie is survived by her children: James Steven Hakemoller (Beth) of Tallahassee, Florida, John Mark Hakemoller (Sally) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her daughter Janice Susan (Hakemoller) Marsh of Hurricane, West Virginia; six grandchildren: Michelle (Hakemoller) Foreman (Josh) of Tallahassee, Florida, Bryan Hakemoller (Haley) of Cumming, Georgia, John Willis Hakemoller of Louisville, Kentucky, Alexander Marsh of Chapel Hill, Julie Hakemoller of Cincinnati, and Anna Marsh of Hurricane, West Virginia; two great-grandchildren: Adalynne and Oliver Foreman of Tallahassee, Florida; and many precious nephews and nieces, including Dona Niswonger (Jeff) Centerville, Ohio and Sherry Wimmers (Ron) of Centerville, Ohio and great nephews and nieces.
Bobbie loved her family well, prayed daily for her loved ones, and enjoyed her life alongside her beloved husband, John. She devoted her life God, her husband and to her children. The last several years they resided at Friendship Village, where they met new friends and enjoyed their time there. Bobbie was actively involved with the American Heart Fund for many years. She was a poll precinct judge, a member of the Republicans Women's Club, Saint Rita's PTA, and church. She also enjoyed her bible studies.
Through the years, John and Bobbie loved ballroom and square-dancing. They were members of the Dayton Ballroom Association Dancing Club. Bobbie was an incredible wife to her husband John and awesome to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, has left an incredible legacy and will be sorely missed. We are forever grateful to the staff, especially the nurses of Ohio Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420. Their love and care were outstanding to both John Elmer and Olympia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
A visitation will be held from 9:30am to 10:45am on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Newcomers North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am at Saint Rita's Catholic Church, 5401 North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio 45415. Following Mass, John and Olympia will be laid to rest together at Royal Oaks Memorial Gardens, Brookville, Ohio.
