Oliver P. Applegate

Oliver P. Applegate, Jr., age 62 of Northridge, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 26, 1945 in Dayton, OH, the son of Oliver P. & Myrtle M. Applegate. He was formerly employed by MRDD Jergens Facility and was involved with Senior Resources at Wilkinson & 4th. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, movies, Elvis Presley, and Rocky. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Grooms & Alvena Wilkey; and brothers-in-law, James Grooms & LaVerne Brewer. Survivors include his siblings, Margaret Brewer, Judith (Lloyd) Grooms, caregivers, Doris (Barry) Harper, Nancy (Andy) Moore, and John Applegate; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, great-great niece & nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Del Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery County MRDD or Hospice of Dayton.
