Olie T. Jones

Jones, Olie T., age 85 of Dayton passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 8, 1922 in Zoe, KY, the son of Leslie & Josie (Johnson) Jones. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a navigator of a B24 Liberator and was a Lifetime Member of the VFW Sabec Memorial Post 9582. He retired from Chrysler where he was employed as an electrician. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Rutherford, & Harrison Jones; sisters, Virginia Poore, Janie Michaels, & Lorena Elkins; son-in-law, Eugene Jones. Survivors include his wife, Helen Jones; daughters, Phyllis (Denis) Leschishin of Duluth, MN; Spider Jones of Hyden, KY; grandchildren, Amber (Jeff) Vreeman, Ryan, Paul, & Ana Leschishin, and Stephanie Jones; great grandchildren, Alyssa & Addison Vreeman; sisters, Louise Townsend of Stanton, KY & Dolly Derickson of Altamonte Springs, FL; niece, Jo Heuslein and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, December 17, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 PM until the time of services. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the American Cancer Society.
