SURFACE, Ola "Marie" (Wells) age 87 of Beavercreek passed away Monday, September 25, 2006 at Crestview Manor. She was born April 7, 1919 in the Ano community of Pulaski County (Somerset) KY. A resident of the Dayton area since 1941, she was a 25-year member of the IBEW Retirees Club and greatly enjoyed their many trips and adventures. Marie was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Balzora Whitis; her husbands Harry Wells and Ed Surface; a son, Kenneth Wells; her brothers, Oather, Robert, Clarence, Melvin and Earl Whitis; and sisters, Beulah Whitis and Gertie Estep. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Ray) Hurley and son Dennis Wells; grandchildren: Jimmy (partner Jackie), Danny (Danielle), and Tommy Glascoe, and Jason Shepherd; great-grandchildren: Kacey and Tiffany Glascoe, and Cody Glascoe and his mother Kathy. Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence (Alma) Whitis and Veral (Phyllis) Whitis both of Somerset, KY; and three sisters, Anna Ernst and Mattie Powell both of Fairborn, OH and Edna Stringer of Ft. Meyers, FL. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held 5-8:00PM Thursday, September 28th at the Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd.), where funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, Chaplain Robin McCarthy, officiating. Burial will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held following the services at Marion's Pizza, 3443 N.
