Odessa Hemmelgarn, age 92, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
Odessa was born on November 6, 1928 in Harlan, KY.
Odessa was a member of the Zion Memorial UCC.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sterling "Kail" Smith and Cyril Hemmelgarn; mother, Pearl Dews; daughter, Patricia Smith Schotz; and grandson, Jeffrey Shade.
Odessa is survived by her daughters, Carla (Raymond) Shade and Barbara (Terry) Watson; grandchildren, Spencer Schotz, Brian (Joanna) Taylor, Jennifer Watson, Heidi (Louie) Williams and Douglas (Melissa) Shade; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Odessa's memory to the Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
