Norman L. Thomas, age 80 of West Chester, passed away December 17, 2015. He was born February 8, 1935 in Newark, Ohio to the late Owen and Gladys Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nadzia Thomas; brother, Robert Thomas; and son-in-law, Gary Dunlap.
Norm is survived by his daughters: Tonda Dunlap, Tamra (Mark) Needles and Tarri (Dwayne) Gauck; grandchildren: Dana Needles, Megan Gauck and Matthew Gauck; sisters: Sue (Ben) Tatham and Patricia (Richard) Werner; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and colleagues.
Norm was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He repaired and maintained diesel engines while serving in Chinon, France. Norm's great love for mechanics landed him a lifelong career with the Raymond Corporation, where he enjoyed servicing and re-engineering lift trucks. He worked for several Raymond distributors, finishing his career in Cincinnati when he retired from Storage Concepts. Norm was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fly fishing, even catching an occasional bat.
