Norman Grant

Norman Grant, age 84, of Miami Township, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nola and Harvey Grant; his wife of 41 years, Carole; his daughter, Elizabeth Norton; his son, Michael; his brother, Jerry; brother-in-law, Elmer Stidham; and nephew, Eric Thome.

 He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debbie; her son, Brandon (Cynthia) Enghauser and their children, Ruby and Emily; his grandchildren, Kris and Katie Norton; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Grant; his beloved sister, Marcia Stidham; his niece, Shanda (Brian) Donley and their children Wyatt, Carson and Hannah (William) Bach; and his nephew, Kelly Grant of Arizona. 

Norman graduated from Kiser High School, received his Bachelor’s from Wilmington College, his Master from Xavier University and his Ph.D. from Ohio State. He was a counselor, teacher and football coach at Miamisburg High School from 1963-69. From 1969 until his retirement he was a professor, chairperson of physical education, athletic director, and golf coach at Sinclair Community College. He was an avid golfer as a member of Meadowbrook Country Club and a passionate fan of Ohio State football. He found joy in traveling and spending time with his family and friends. 

Family will receive guests from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439) where a service will begin at 2:00 pm. A private interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery (Dayton).
