Norma Jean passed away peacefully in her home in the manner in which she wanted, surrounded by loved ones, after having the opportunity to speak with distant family and friends and share last memories. During the last two and a half years of her life, she spent every day surrounded by grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in the care of her own home. Norma Jean Weeks was born on July 8th, 1935 to Norman and Faye Cyphers in Buffalo, New York. She was the sister to two younger brothers, James and Robert Cyphers. While studying at Syracuse University in New York, she met her husband of almost 60 years and together they led a fulfilled life with their five children. Having taken a job at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Tom and Norma Jean settled in Beavercreek, Ohio in 1968. Norma Jean dedicated 45 years of her life to the Girl Scouts of America and Buckeye Trails Girl Scout Council, as well as devoted herself to many community services including park improvements and school volunteer.
