Norma Faye Stringer, age 86, of Dayton, Ohio, entered Heaven's gates on December 2, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on May 25, 1936 in Cumberland, KY, to the late Sam and Ora Smith. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Stringer and son, Gregory Stringer.
Norma is survived by her children: Carlisa (Arlie) Combs and Christopher (Kellie) Stringer; grandchildren: Chantel Stringer, Dustin Combs, Doug (Erica) Combs, Brittney (Brad) Rader, Shyanne Stringer, and Anna Mitman; great grandchildren: Ryan, Carley, Lacey, and Lilly; great great grandchildren: Annalise and Colette; sister: Mable Plueger; brothers: Sam Smith Jr. and Gerald Callahan; and many other family and friends.
Norma was raised in the mountains of Kentucky. She later worked as a switchboard operator in Baltimore and in Cincinnati, and then married Coy on May 1, 1961 and they began their family. Norma was an avid doll collector, she loved shopping and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank Ohio's Hospice and the staff at Trinity of Fairborn for their love and care.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:30pm. Norma will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
