Norma Jean Hillard, age 75 of Xenia, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at home with family. She was born on March 17, 1945 in Xenia, Ohio to Henry and Josephine (Plaster) Rasnic. She married Floyd Hillard in June 26, 1961 in Xenia, OH.
Norma is survived by her son, Thomas P. Hillard; a daughter, Cathy J. Hillard; two grandchildren, Mary Hillard and Nathan Mefford; three great grandchildren, Madalyn, Gabriel and Michael; two sisters, Wilma (Arthur) Dunlap and Brenda (Bill) Randolph; a brother in law, Douglas (Judy) Hillard; and numerous other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years; three sisters, Ida Mae Davidson, Martha Fay Sparrow and Vesta Ebright; Adrain, Henry P., Larry and Gary Rasnic.
Norma Jean worked at Heather Greene Nursing Home in Xenia, retiring in 1998. She loved to read and enjoyed playing softball and was the pitcher for her teams softball. Norma Jean loved her garden and played guitar, organ, accordion and singin' with her sisters, reflecting her love of music. Throughout her battle with cancer she maintained a positive attitude and a smile on her face, and appreciated all the help from her nurses and doctors. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Norma Jean and Floyd were Ham Radio Communication Operators and loved communicating with fellow operators worldwide...their call letters were KB8ICK (Norma Jean) and KB8GYP (Floyd)
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, OH.
