Norma Gail Harris, age 86 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at her home. She was born April 14, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Delphin and Margaret Guntle.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Arthur Harris; her son, Rick Harris and her sister, Shirley King.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Kevin) Unterborn; grandchildren, Kelly Unterborn, Ashley Unterborn, Jill Suther and Jacob Harris; step-granddaughters, Liza Sprague and Kathryn (Sprague) Estrada; seven great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Grigsby; and nieces and nephews as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Norma was a 1951 graduate of Stivers High School and worked from home for many years as a talented seamstress. She also served as a parent volunteer for her children's activities. Later she was employed by several local businesses including banking institutions and in food service. She was a waitress at Elder-Beerman's (Van-Buren and downtown) restaurant for almost 10 years. Norma enjoyed several activities in her free time including several bowling leagues, cooking, crossword puzzles, collecting turtles and sharing her gift of music with others as a violinist and pianist.
Family will celebrate her life privately at a later date in an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of family and friends during this extraordinary time.
