WHITESIDE, Norma Gene (GiGi) passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 17, 1949 in Hanley, WV to the late Maude Finch and Luther Wheeler. In 1959 the family moved to Xenia, OH. Norma Gene graduated from Xenia High School and the Greene County Career Center. She also attended Miami Jacobs College. She professed her belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Middle Run Baptist Church in Xenia. Later, she became a member of the First Zion Baptist Church in Jamestown. After moving to the Fairborn area she joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church of Dayton. Norma Gene was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Versie Finch; husband, Ramon Soney; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Bert Wheeler of Baltimore, MD; step-brother, Daniel (Claudette) Howard of Torrington, CT; sisters, Nina Gates of Detroit, MI, Margaret King of Woodbridge, VA, Paula (Andrew) Partridge of Dayton, OH, Ernestine Davenport of Baltimore, MD, and Linda Neal of Fairborn, OH; step-sister, A. Janelle (James) Harris of Louisville, KY; aunt, Clara M. Holland of Xenia, OH; adopted son, Mario (Qiana) Studivant and grandson, Tyrin Studivant of Fairborn, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and her church families. Norma Gene will be remembered as an uncomplaining fighter with a sweet, soft spirit. Visitation will be 5-8PM Friday, September 19, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. in Beavercreek. Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor K. Edwin Bryant officiating.
