Norma Jean Duncan, 81 of Xenia died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 after a lengthy and hard fought battle with poor health. Norma was born August 14, 1932, the oldest of 4 children to Edith and George Coates. Norma has gone to join her family that preceded her in death; her parents; sons, Randy and Gregory Harris, the father of her children and first husband, Robert L. Harris.
She is survived by sons, Charles (Patricia) Harris and Robert Harris; daughters, Edith (Paul) Calloway, Georgette (Henry) Gross, and Carolyn Harris; sister, Minnie Cox; and brothers, Paul (Frances) Coates and Ronald (Fay) Coates; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Norma was a devoted member of World Peace Tabernacle Church, who truly loved the Lord and totally believed in the Bible; a Mother who spent her life taking care of her children and grandchildren no matter the cost or challenge; a friend who never denied a hungry mouth food or a tired body a place to rest. Norma was a true Good Samaritan, who will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio) Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio. www.newcomerdayton.com.
