Norma J. Collins

Norma Collins, age 83, of Dayton passed away on April 10, 2023. She was born in Dayton on February 12, 1940 to the late Russell and Bernice Wellmeier. In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, James and 9 siblings.

Norma is survived by her son, Bryan Collins; 3 grandchildren, Kayla Pitman, Kira Alexander, Kelsea Zinderstein; and 5 great-grandchildren along with other family and friends.

Norma was raised on the Wellmeier family farm overlooking the Miami Valley and downtown Dayton, from which the family enterprise, Wellmeier Construction, helped build many of the buildings still standing today.

As a child she loved playing with the farm animals and became an avid lover of nature. As an adult, Norma enjoyed painting landscapes, caring for her garden, and spending time with her family.

She was devoted to her faith and enjoyed supporting her religious organization.
