SMITH, Nolan C. (Jack) went home to be with his parents on Thursday, January 27, 2011.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and proudly served in the Korean War.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Molly (Bowling); 4 children, Margie (Ken Sr.) Collier, Mary Craig, James Smith, Brian (Karen) Smith; 11 grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. and Kristopher Collier, Jacob and Michael Knoth, Nelson Jr, Conner, and Jordan Craig, Jeremy Smith, Nick and Lindy Schmidt, and Rebecca Smith; 7 great-grandchildren, Kenneth III and Angel Collier, Evelyn and Ezra Collier, Gavin Knoth, Jesse and Macy Knoth.

He was born to Noah and Mattie Lou (Taylor) Smith in Jackson County, TN in 1930, he was the oldest of 13 children and is survived by his 8 brothers and 4 sisters.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 31 at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439) with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
