Nick Thaxton

Nick Thaxton, age 71, of Riverside, passed away at home with his loving family by his side, on January 27, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 12, 1951 to the late Howard "Red" and Joann Thaxton.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandmother, Arline Leibold.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Thaxton; daughters, Bridgett (Steven) Miller and Michelle (Joel) Conley; grandchildren, Joel Miller, Katherine Baird, Chad Baird and Mark Miller; siblings, Bill (Jean) Thaxton, Bonnie (Larry) Brant, Penny (Marc) Clancy and Pam (Kevin) Holloway and numerous other family and friends.
He was a graduate of W.E. Stebbins High School, class of 1970. He was a life member of VFW Auxiliary 657 and spent many years volunteering at the Dayton VA medical center. Nick worked at Mike-Sells for 39 years. After he retired, Nick joined in running "The Fruit Stand" family business in Beavercreek. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, fishing and watching his favorite TV shows. He was a self-taught, skilled wood worker. Nick was also an avid Pete Rose fan. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where funeral services will begin at 4:00pm.
