Nevel Rose, age 83 of Dayton, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017. He was born September 27, 1934 in Williamsburg, Kentucky the son of Bill and Hila Rose.
Nevel was a caretaking person. He worked his entire life caring for his family and everyone around his family. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Dayton Casting for 20 years before retiring from Delco Chassis after 30 years.
He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in the garage. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hila Goins; father, Bill Rose and brothers, Nesbitt Shelton, Kelsey Shelton, Steve Goins.
Nevel will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Billie Rose; son, Ted Rose; daughter, Kimberly and her husband, Bobby Scott; two grandchildren, Stephanie Scott and Bobby "BJ" Scott; five great-grandchildren, Brodey Scott, Cornell Akeman, Chayse Akeman, Caden Nevel Akeman and Chance Nevel Akeman; siblings, Sue Faulkner, Ronnie Goins and AC Goins; many nieces and nephews and faithful friend, Ella.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio.
