Age 67, of Riverside, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007, at his home. He was born in Coalgood, Kentucky to Clifford & Arletta Shackleford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Gayle Smith; and one step-daughter, Sheila (Davis) Strahan.
Nelson is survived by his wife of the past 41 years, Loretta Shackleford; one son and daughter-in-law, Troy & Bobby Shackleford; six grandchildren, Heather, Harley, Howard, Taylor, Lensey and Karsin; one great granddaughter, Dacoda; sisters, Carolyn Eisen and Arlene & Robert Browning.
The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Lockwood officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions should be made in memory of Nelson to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
