Nellie E. Kostic

KOSTIC, Nellie E., age 81, daughter of Frank and Jane McGrath of Greenleaf, Kansas; sister to Anna and Russell (Uncle Pete), married in Salina, Kansas at Sacred Heart Cathedral to Andrew J. Kostic, Sr. on 11 November 1949, 61 years ago this month, passed away 9 November 2010 at the Hospice of Dayton. Nellie and Andrew shared their love with 9 children (Terry, Sherryl, John, Mike, Tom, Mary, Jim, Andy, and Matt), 20 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

She lived her life for her husband, children, and church. During her husband's military service, she traveled to the islands of the South Pacific and to numerous locations across the United States. The care packages and chip chocolate cookies prepared by her were enjoyed by many, from the jungles of Southeast Asia, to the deserts of the Middle East and the ice caps of the Antarctic. Her thoughtfulness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on 15 November 2010 at St. Helen Parish, 5100 Burkhardt Rd., Dayton. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on 14 November 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek.
