Naomi Carr, age 91 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2018. She was born in Crossville, TN to the late Estelle and Lonnie Rodgers. Naomi met and married James Carr in the mid forties after moving to Dayton. The two owned Carr's Clothing Store in Dayton. Naomi was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful gardener. She was a compassionate caregiver, taking care of her mother for many years. Naomi had a passion for dogs and enjoyed raising poodles. She enjoyed baking for her loved ones and will be fondly remembered for her delicious cakes and sweets. She was a caring, loving, and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, James Dwayne Carr; son, Terry Carr; and siblings, Ruth, Dick, Bud, Malcolm, and Joe.
Naomi leaves to cherish her memory, loving son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Deborah Carr; grandchildren, Kristina Carr, Shannon (Graham) Brooks, Shaun Carr, Danielle (Ian) Boone, Jennifer Ragon, Sean Ragon, and Bryan (Chelsea) Ragon; great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Connor, Kyle, Camden, Annabelle, Violet, Maryclaire, Stella, Savanna, and one on the way. Naomi also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 9:30am-10:30am. Funeral service to follow at 10:30am. Burial at Woodland Cemetery to immediately following services.
