Nannie M. Shears, age 97 of Dayton, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at Vancrest Health Care Center. She was born February 8, 1920 in Pruden, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Hiram and Myrtle Heneger.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Shears; father of her last 5 children, John York; sons, Kenneth and Marvin Shears, Curtis and Carl York; as well as several siblings.
Nannie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (James) Smith, Mary Bonham, Leona (Bethel) Broyles, Freda Smith; son, Larry York (Linda Black); sister, Faye Richardson; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Willow View Cemetery.
