Nancye Rodgers Webb, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on May 4, 1933, in Lexington, Kentucky, Nancye lived a life rich with experiences, deep connections, and unconditional love for her family.
Nancye dedicated much of her career as an administrative assistant for the City Manager of Dayton and Central Services. Her professional journey was marked by her charismatic personality, which she shared generously with everyone around her. She was known as a positive presence, a graceful listener, and an inspiring advisor, continually encouraging those in her life. Her warmth and enthusiasm for storytelling brought joy to both acquaintances and loved ones, as she often entertained those around her with tales from the past.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Nancye embraced a variety of interests and hobbies that showcased her vibrant spirit. She took great pleasure in teaching children essential life skills such as sewing and food preservation. Her creative side flourished through painting, while her love for music and dance endeared her to many. She also enjoyed archery and trap shooting, and she cherished the moments spent traveling. Reading was another passion, illuminating her inquisitive mind.
Nancye’s proudest accomplishment was witnessing the bond of five generations of her family staying connected with one another each day. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Robert) Marlow and Cindy (James) Lawson; her grandchildren, Jared (Tammy) Webb, Jason (Missy) Wiler, Catherine Wiler, Carey Bishop, Whitehawk (Jean) Pierce, Jesse (Angie) Lawson, Mo "Moriah" Lawson, and Clint Lawson; her great-grandchildren, Sierra (Brandon) Barbosa, Brooklyn Libecap, Nevada Rutherford, Faith Rupp, Alan Fleming, Porscha Fleming, Kai Pierce, Eden Lawson, Case Lawson, and Sayre Jimenez; as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Brenton, Makenzi, Brayden, Lillie, Kavera, Raylen, Bryson, Maddox, Kingston, Mattaeo, Amara, Melanie, Haisley, and Maverick. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Beverly Thomas, and countless beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
Nancye was preceded in life everlasting by her parents, Gordon and Maryland Rogers; her loving husband, Marion C. "Tommy" Webb; her daughter, Patricia Ann Webb; her sister, Patsy Gregg; and her brothers, Herbert Rodgers and Gordon Rodgers.
As we remember Nancye Rodgers Webb, we celebrate a life filled with grace, kindness, and a remarkable ability to uplift all who had the fortune of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her legacy of love and connection.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for Nan's weeping willow tree and plaque at her and her husband's beloved home.
