SCOTT, Nancy Golden (Amburgy) age 93, formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away July 18, 2024, at A Love For Life Bear Canyon House, her assisted living facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Nancy was born in Owsley County, Kentucky, on May 25, 1931, one of eleven children of Robert and Callie (Kilburn) Amburgy. Nancy attended Mason High School, Class of 1949. After graduation, Nancy went to work for the local telephone company as a telephone operator. On May 26, 1950, Nancy married Arvie Scott. When the first of three children arrived, she became a stay-at-home mother. Nancy took pride in her children while creating and maintaining a beautiful home. When the children were a little older, Nancy became co-owner of the new family business, where she was the bookkeeper and managed payroll.
Nancy and her husband lived in Beavercreek, Ohio, for 55 years. She was an active, longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple in Dayton, Ohio, before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Callie Amburgy; five brothers Cortous, Charles, Elmo, Clarence and Ragan Amburgy; and five sisters Lena Brandenburg, Stella Cooper, Ruth Kroner, Betty Lamb and Ruby Moore and one grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Arvie; two sons Edward (Ruth) Scott and Dennis (Alicia) Scott; one daughter Kim Stowe; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
