Nancy L. Zurcher, age 65, of Xenia, went home to be with Jesus, her loving Savior, on April 21, 2016. Nancy was born on February 7, 1951, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Jack and Vera Hancock Norris. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack; and brother, Talmadge Norris. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Zurcher; son, Jonathan (Heather) Zurcher; granddaughter, Sophia Zurcher; all of Xenia; and sister-in-law, Susan Zurcher, of Dayton. She is also survived by her mother, Vera Norris; her brothers, Donald (Mary) and Vernon Norris; sister, Fayrene Brown; all of Somerset, Kentucky; and sister, Olive (Charles) Scrimager, of Beavercreek; six nieces and one nephew; as well as a host of other family members.
Nancy was a loving wife and mother who cherished all members of her immediate and extended family. A teacher by vocation, she taught at Greene County Christian Academy and Xenia City Schools after graduating from Wright State University. She was a devoted Christian with a servant's heart and served God and her church in any way possible, including teaching Sunday School for many years. Her hobbies were gardening, reading, bicycling and travelling. She took many trips with her family to places throughout Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the U.S. Wherever she went, she enjoyed visiting churches and cathedrals and exploring their adjoining cemeteries.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Trinity Assembly Church, 1146 Grange Hall Rd., Beavercreek, with Reverend William Rowe and Evangelists Ronald and Edna Wagers officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Park Cemetery , Indian Ripple Rd., Beavercreek. The burial will be followed by a reception at Trinity Assembly Church.
