Nancy Louise (White) Ivey, was born on May 3, 1945 in Hazard, Kentucky. She went home to be with the Lord at 5:10 am on January 31, 2025 at the age of 79.

She is survived by her loving husband George Ivey of 62 years, three sons George Glenn Ivey, Ricky Dale Ivey, Jacob Dwayne Ivey, three adopted grandchildren Reverend Timothy (Jennifer) Long, Norman (Lisa) Long, Truman Jones Jr., her grandchildren Aaron (Chasity) Beery, Reverend Nathan (Cierra) Ivey, Reverend David (Alayna) Ivey, Ricky Ivey Jr., Adam Ivey, Austin Ivey, Isabella Ivey, Cameron Ivey, Allison Ivey, Jocelyn Ivey, 15 great-grandchildren, Lucas Long, Alexander Long, Ian Palmer, Hunter Palmer Long, Ariana Long, Ezekiel Ivey, Hannah Ivey, Luke Ivey, Claire Ivey, Peter Ivey, Cooper Ivey, Carter Ivey, Kinsey Ivey, Abbigail Ivey, Sofie Ivey. As a young child Nancy spent several years living at the Desi Scott Children’s Home in Campton, Kentucky. There she was cared for by Mrs. Lee Winchip, who was very special to her and always held a special place in Nancy’s heart. When she was 8 years old, she moved to Ohio with her mother. When her mother passed away, she returned to Kentucky to live with family. She would later meet George Ivey, and in 1962 they were married. A few months later they moved to Dayton, Ohio to find work and start a new life. For the next 62 years through good times and bad, for better or for worse, they never left each other’s side.
Kentucky was her place of birth, the place she met and married George, and most importantly, it was the place she found her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was greatly devoted to her husband and family, but nothing could compare to her love and devotion to Jesus Christ! Nancy had a heavenly gift of which she utilized greatly. She penned over 100 songs and recorded nine projects. She was a very talented anointed singer, songwriter, musician, author and Sunday school teacher. Her teaching illustrations made deep impressions on her students, many of which are still remembered today. In addition to being in the house of God every time the doors were open, Nancy spent every Thursday morning for many years singing and ministering to the residents of Livingston Care Facility in Dayton, Ohio. Always by her side was her best friend of 30 plus years Sister Dorothy Ann (Wright) Bauer who went to be with the Lord several years ago. Nancy and Dorothy were the prime example of what true friendship is! George and Nancy had four children, and when their youngest was only six years old they took in three of their grandchildren and raised them as their own. Nancy had a very selfless spirit and always put God and others first. She attended the Pentecostals of Dayton, which she greatly loved. She always said, “don’t wait until I’m gone to give me roses, give me my roses while I’m alive.”
In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be made in Nancy’s memory to the Pentecostals of Dayton or the Desi Scott Children’s Home in Campton, Kentucky.
